Course Description:
Students in musical theater class are immersed in the discipline and art of musical theater. They gain essential technique for singing, dancing, and acting through direct instruction and through learning the songs, choreography, and staging of a fully produced, all-singing, all- dancing musical revue. Each student will have the opportunity for solo and ensemble performance. Class begins with a full physical, mental/emotional, and vocal warm-up. This prepares the students for rehearsal or the day’s lesson and teaches performing skills. Most often, the main part of class is then spent rehearsing musical numbers for the final performance at the end of the school year. This class is designed to build well-rounded performing artists. All ability levels in each discipline are welcome.
